全員合格!!
今日の夕焼けも本当にきれいだった。西の空が深紅になって、気がつくと自分も夕焼け色に染まっていた。
小学１年生男子6人クラス。プーコズでは大所帯に入る。しかし、このクラスまとまりが非常に良い。まとまりがよい分、ふざけるときも一斉にふざけるが(笑)、すぐに軌道修正可能。
さて、教室に入ってまず始めることはホームワークの本読み。単語と本読みとに分かれており、本にある単語の一覧が読めたら、本番の本読みに入る。
この本はレベル16まであり、各々のレベルが8冊づつのセットになっている。小学１年生はレベル１から始める。音声はインターネットで聞くことができるので、高いCDを購入せず、家で何度でも聞くことができる。
単語読みの子、本読みの子といるが、今日はなんと全員合格!! さらにうれしいことに、8冊全て(単語読みも含め)合格した子も出た。家での学習の効果が伺われる。１週間に１回の教室のみで英語が習得できることは、まず無い。こつこつ地道が言語学習の鉄則!! 一度合格すると達成感とともに自分に自信がついてくる。自信がつくともっとやりたくなって長続きする。それが、上達の秘訣。「継続は力なり。」
また、ともだちと切磋琢磨できるのも、人数が多いクラスのメリット。良い刺激をお互いが与え合い、本読みにも力が入る。協調性とライバル意識という相反する感情のバランスが自然ととれてくる。
初めから絶好調だったこどもたち。最後までのりにのって、あっという間にレッスンが終了。口も身体もよく動いた75分だった。
