自習ルームオープン!!
今日から小学生対象に自習ルームをオープンした。
毎月曜日午後5:00〜6:15まで(祝祭日除く)。原則としてプーコズで出されたホームワークをするために開設した。読み書き中心。なかなか家で英語に取り組む時間が取れない、というこどもたちのためだ。
何度も繰り返し言っているが、言語は毎日の積み重ねがものをいう。英語にもっと興味を持ち、自分で取り組んでいくきっかけ作りになればと考えている。
レッスンは、80%が会話中心である。残りの20%が読み書きとなるため、自然ホームワークでの補強も必要となる。
教室や自分の辞書を引きながら単語を調べたり、教室にある本から単語を探し出したりと各々が自分の力で取り組んでいた。時折私に助けを求めたり、友だち同士で助け合ったりしながら、作業を進めていく。
今日の収穫。じっくりこどもたちの読み書きを見ることで、こどもたちの読み書きの更なる進歩を感じることができた。何よりもレッスンとは別に、こどもたちが自主的に、英語に取り組む姿が印象的だった。
