Touching(触る)
今月のプリスクールのテーマは「Touching(触る)」。五感のひとつである感覚を、こどもたちとたっぷり楽しんでみる。
第一回目の今日は、教室の中でTouching。「soft」「rough」「smooth」「slimy」「itchy」の５つが、今回私が選んだ感触だ。生活の中で頻繁に感じるであろうものだ。
まず、各々の感触を持つ物を貼った紙をひとつづつ、皆に触ってもらう。そして、それぞれ感じたことを言ってもらった。
「soft」(コットン)…柔らかいってこと？ ふわふわしてるね。 気持ちいい!!
「rough」(サンドペーパー)…ざらざらしてる。
「smooth」(カード)…つるつるしてるね。
「slimy」(石けん)…ぷよぷよしてる。固いよ。ぬるぬる。
「itchy」(もみの葉)…痛っ!! ちくちくしてるー。変な臭い!!
しっかり感触が伝わった後、教室の中でこれら５つの感触を持つ物を探してみた。皆、懸命にTouch(触り)ながら感触を確かめていく。"I found it!!"という声があちこちで聞こえ、こどもたちが集めた感触物で床がいっぱいになった。
それでも、「slimy」はなかなか見つからず、私が救いの手を差し伸べる。液体石けんと台所洗剤が「slimy」の仲間に入る。
「itchy」は実は私もお手上げだった。ところが、ひとり見事に発見してくれた子がいた!! それはなんと……フォークの先!!「ほら、痛いでしょ。」これには私も驚き。全体だけで判断せず、部分も見る。全く新しい切り口。ああ、これだからこどもは侮れない。毎回新鮮な驚きと知恵を私に与えてくれる。こどもたちに感謝!!
