聞き耳(目)
本日の小学1年生諸君には、レシピを見ながら、自分たちでクッキー作りに挑戦してもらいました。
材料はsugar、salt、flour、egg yalk、butterの5つとシンプル。順番と分量を読み間違えなければ確実に作ることが出来るはず。
「What do you do before cooking?(料理をする前にすることは？)」の私の問いかけに
「Wash (my) hands(手を洗う)」と声を揃えて答えてくれました。ふふっ。
3名を1グループとして2グループで協力して作ってもらいます。どうなることやら、ちょっと不安が(汗)。
Aグループはbutterを協力してknead(練る)し始めました。ボールを2人が押さえ、一人がspatula(へら)で練っています。
Bグループは一人でボールを押さえ練っています。他の二人は口は出すものの協力態勢無し。う〜ん。
そこで、さりげなく私
「Wow!! A group is great!! It is easy to knead for him when others hold the bowl.(わー!! Aグループすごいねえ!! 一人が練っているときボウルを他の人が押さえていたらやりやすいよね)」
と大げさに言ってみました。
と、横目で見ていたBグループの面々。早速真似を始めます。
Aグループが先行して作業を進めていたので、ポイントとなる所をこそっと、でもBグループにわかるようにアドバイスを与えました。
すると、BグループのY君、横目と横耳!?で聞いていてしっかり他のメンバーに伝授してくれました。
そうそう、声を張り上げて私が説明することはないのですよ。必要なことは絶対聞き耳(目)たててくれてますから(笑)。
そして今回は、張ってあるレシピをじっと見て、材料と分量を間違えずに作ってくれたことに盛大な拍手を送っちゃいます!!
何回もレシピを見ながら、分量を確かめていたR君。R君が量った分量でしっかり材料を混ぜ合わせていたT君とS君。
S君は手のべたべたが気になるようで何回も「May I wash my hands.」を連発(爆)。
そして今日のチャレンジ賞は、卵の黄身と白身を分けてくれたJ君でしょうか。いつも何度も確かめないと重い腰をあげないJ君が、私が示したお手本(になるかなあ!?)を見て、やっていました(すご〜い)。
さて、肝心のお味は…
どの子も、むしゃむしゃほおばっていたのを見ると「Yummy!!」だったんでしょう…ね!?
