何本髪の毛があるの?!
今日の小学1年生クラスでは
"What grade are you in?"(あなたは何年生ですか？)
"I'm in the 1st grade."(1年生です。)
のセンテンスを導入。
初めての時はカードの絵を見せて導入していきます。
これには男の子が質問をして、女の子が指を1本立ている絵が画かれています。
「この絵を見て自分で言えることはある？」と聞くと
「(It's) red shirt.(赤いシャツ)」とか「(They are) yellow pants.(黄色のズボン)」など口々に言ってくれました。
そこで、私が
「She has ○○○○ hair.(彼女は○○い髪だね。)」
というと、J君が
「long hair.(長い髪)」と答えてくれて
「He has ○○○○○ hair.(彼は○い髪だね。)」
というとR君、Ｙ君が
「short hair(短い髪)」と答えてくれました。
他にもおまけにstraight hair(直毛)とcurly hair(カーリー)も。
これは、今ホームワークで読み進めているSpring boardという本に出てくる単語なんです。
こどもたちは一回合格すると忘れちゃう、とか言っていますが、こういうときにしっかり思い出せるくらい、実はインプットされているんですね。
で、本題の「じゃあこの二人は、何を話していると思う？」と聞いたところ
しばらく考えていたJ君、おもむろに
「髪の毛何本あるの？…かな？」
「???!!!」
押さえきれず思わず爆笑!!
こどもたちは、いろんなものを結びつけて考えてくれるんですね。私が髪の毛のことを聞いたから、きっとそれに関係したことに違いないと推理してくれたわけです(感心)。
その後、わざわざ自分の髪の毛をY君が1本抜いてくれました(笑)。
What gradeのセンテンスを、髪の毛何本あるのと間違えて記憶していないことを願います。(爆)
