Where is Mr. Frumble?
昨日同様、今日も本を広げて、こどもたちとお話の世界へ…♪
使用している本は「Richard Scarry's BEST FIRST BOOK EVER!」
ページをめくるとcolor(色), counting(数), shapes and sizes(形と大きさ), the alfhabet(アルファベット)の他、基本的な生活の一場面がかわいい絵で描かれています。
お店が描かれたページをめくって、
Which store do you want to go?(どのお店に行ってみたい？)
Kちゃんはsupermarket(スーパーマーケット)。Aちゃんはclothing(洋服屋さん)。
ネコの家族がベッドで寝ているページを見て、
When is it? Morning, afternoon, evening?(いつかな？朝、昼、夜？)
Aちゃん、この質問に「morning!!」と即答。
私が「Why?(なんで)」と理由を尋ねると
「だって、ネコが起きあがりそうだもの」と１匹のネコを指さして自信満々(笑)。
そして、この本には、実は面白い仕掛けが隠されているのです。
それが………
「Mr. Frumble(ミスターフランブル)」
どのページにも緑色のスーツを着て、緑色の帽子を追いかけている「Mr. Frumble」が隠れて!?いるのです。あるページには、Mr. Frumbleだけだったり、あるページには帽子だけだったり…。
「Where is Mr.Frumble?(ミスターフランブルはどこ)」
ページの始めにこの問いを投げかけておくと、こどもたちはページをめくるたびに競ってMr.Frumbleを探すようになります。14ページ、それもいろんな問いを投げかけながらと長丁場なのですが、このMr.Frumbleを探したいこどもたちは、めくるページ毎に興味を引きつけられてしまいます。
絵本って本当に奥が深いですね〜。見るポイントによって、様々に活用でき、こどもたちにとって、魅力にあふれています。
